Our Mission

We believe art has the power to transform the World

Sheltered Arts is the fine art marketplace where your purchases make a big difference.

We’ve carefully curated some of the finest works from some of Ireland’s most talented artists and chosen an Irish charity to financially support with a percentage from every sale.

Both born out of compassion for those who are suffering and a passion for creativity, support is at the root of everything we do. We wish to be a haven of support for artists and charities alike, furthermore by creating a supportive experience for you to connect with the art that you love.

Our mission is to empower Irish artists, support Irish charities and to create a full circle economy for the benefit of the community through the advancement of art and culture.

As a nonprofit organisation, we seek to also provide our customers quick and easy access to the very best works of Irish art online.

Our Story

Art from the heart

Art from the Heart

In 2019, John Kerin Brooks had an idea. He was walking down the street in Dublin observing the growing number of homeless people, when he suddenly conceived of a way that he could help.

By combining his two passions – his love for art and his desire to help others – he could raise money to support those most in need of shelter.

As a childhood survivor of leukemia, he saw this as an opportunity to help not only the homelessness crisis, but all of those in need.

He tested the idea at a 3 day live music and arts exhibition in 2019, displaying the work of 30 artists along with 30 performing artists. It was a huge success and Sheltered Arts was born.

Now, for every piece of art we sell, we give a donation to an Irish Charity. Artists who sell on our site or at our events are supported by our low commission rate, in turn promoted by us and our partners.
